Course – Compact Introduction to openEHR

This course provides an introduction to the core principles, architecture and web tools of openEHR®, supported by practical examples and a hands-on exercise. The course format lasts approximately 3 hours and is currently offered in German for the DACH region.

It is intended for healthcare professionals, IT specialists in healthcare, developers and decision-makers who wish to gain a concise and practice-oriented understanding of openEHR®. The course covers key concepts such as archetypes, templates, compositions and clinical modelling, and outlines the role of openEHR® in open and interoperable health data platforms.

Participants are introduced to the data-centred approach of openEHR® and its distinction from conventional application-centred system design. The course also provides an overview of relevant openEHR tools, including the Clinical Knowledge Manager and the Archetype Designer, and introduces first steps in practical modelling.

By the end of the course, participants will have gained a clearer understanding of the potential of openEHR® for structured and long-term health data management and will be able to take first steps in clinical modelling using openEHR tools.
